Description
The Big Pilot traces its heritage back to the "B-Uhr" bomber observation watches which IWC produced in 1940 for the German Air Force. It wasn't until 2002, however, when IWC revived the model into its collection. The Big Pilot is true to its name - these watches are not subtle or subdued, instead showing off their wrist presence on the wearer.

In 2021, IWC did something unexpected and downsized the Big Pilot to 43mm. This iteration was not only smaller, but also featured a clean dial without a date window. This watch opened the door to the Big Pilot collection to those with smaller wrists, bringing the icon to a wider audience.
