Description

JW Benson by G. Smith Silver Open Face Pocket Watch English 1900 - Worldwide Shipping!!

A fine silver JW Benson open face pocket watch, made in England in 1900 by G. Smith as he presumably set up his own retail business and operating in 121 Newington Causeway. The pocket watch is complete with a key.

DIAL: The white enamel dial has black Roman numerals with outer minute divisions. The dial has blued hands and a subsidiary second’s dial at the six. The protective glass is in good condition. There is a crack by the seconds dial.

MOVEMENT: The cylinder movement has blued screws and is in good working condition; however, we cannot guarantee accuracy for an antique pocket watch.

CASE: The watch lies in a silver open face case with a rubbed engine turned finish with a monogram free cartouche. The inner side of the case is signed: Fine Silver and numbered: 48484. The cuvette is signed: “G Smith late JW Benson, 121 Newington Causeway”.
